We're called by God to stand out, not to blend in
We’re called by God to stand out, not to blend in

This is the essence of Godvertising: God commands his followers to spread the gospel. They must make themselves visible to others in order to build the popularity of the divine message. This is why there are Jesus Fish on cars, psalms on bumper stickers and sayings on church signs.

Are you one of God’s children? Don’t hide it. Go tell it on the mountain!

We are overdressed if wrapped up in ourselves

We are overdressed if wrapped up in ourselves
We are overdressed if wrapped up in ourselves

The church reminds us that we are not here for us… we are here to serve God. If we are wrapped up in ourselves then we are distracting ourselves from God’s work. Well, I suppose it loses much in the poetic translation. I like the version on this sign better than I can explain it.

Marquee bonus: How is “OURSEIVES” like Christmas? No L.

When you run out of sick days and call in dead, who will answer?

Michael sent this one to me and I love it! He asks (and I’m paraphrasing here), “Huh?”

The sign compares life to a job, allegorically. All our days are numbered, and (more…)

God has no hands but our hands
God has no hands but our hands

We are all instruments of God. Have you considered what that truly means? It doesn’t mean we are God’s creation; it means we are His tools. He uses us to carry out his plans on earth. Because God has no hands but ours.

What did you do with God’s hands today?

The year has changed. God has not.

The year has changed. God has not.
The year has changed. God has not.

Happy New Year everyone! Even though we have moved into the future, we should remember that God is eternal and unchanging. If God didn’t condone it 100 years ago, then He doesn’t today either.

This sign is aimed at people who think that religion should get “modern”. It’s also a reminder that God is our Rock, ever-present and reliable. Take peace in that, brothers and sisters.
